| Product Features & Benefits |
| |
Fast installation of long structural columns: Up to 4 storey (16m) freestanding structural columns from a simple bolted base connection erected from a single crane lift - no waiting for formwork, scaffolding, steel fixing, concrete pumping, curing, formwork stripping and void patching |
Continuous Construction: Rocla® Building Columns arrive complete with cast-in connections ensuring continuity of building. Proprietary components include block-outs for band beams and flat slabs, ferrules and plates for attaching steel beams, starter bars, etc |
Economical and Durable: The 65MPa min concrete strength allows selection of smaller diameter economical columns. Rocla® Building Columns are suitable for exposure classifications up to B2 in AS 3600 |
Smooth Finish - Quality Manufacture: The spinning process creates a smooth void free off steel form finish with few mould seams ready for decorative coatings. Fittings and block-outs are accurately positioned in the factory |
Wide Range and Versatile Designs: Standard diameters range from 260mm to 810mm with lengths to 24m with various wall thicknesses, strengths and fire ratings to 4 hours. Tapered columns (15mm taper per m) are also available |
Hollow Core Advantages: The hollow core in spun concrete columns makes them up to 30% lighter than solid columns and allows services such as downpipes and electrical conduits to be easily run down the building with access points built-in. Where additional strength is required the cores can be in-filled with concrete when slabs are poured. |
